‘Commissioner’s Commendation Award’ for Dan Wood

Nottinghamshire Scouts’ County Commissioner, Matt Rooney, has awarded the Commissioner’s Commendation Award to Dan Wood – Assistant County Commissioner (Cub Scouts) – in recognition of his phenomenal efforts in ensuring that 2500 Nottinghamshire Cub Scouts had a “Centenary to Remember” in 2016.

Dan and his team organised a series of high profile events for the County’s Cub Scouts as part of the “Cubs 100” celebrations, including a day of “action” at the Doncaster Dome, a special Cub Scout Centenary Camp at Southwell Racecouse and a trip to the Science and Natural History Museums in London.

Dan was presented with his Award by Simon Clark (DC, SW Notts), acting on behalf of the County Commissioner, in front of over 200 Cubs and their leaders at the SW Notts District’s Promise Party held on 16th December at Tenpin Nottingham.

After the Cubs renewed their Promise they enjoyed an hour of Tenpin Bowling.

What a fitting end to this year of celebration and FUN!

Many congratulations Dan, and thank you for all your hard work.
