Amy Whitney, an Explorer Leader with Magellan Explorer Scout Unit in Beeston recently successfully gained her Queen’s Scout Award – the highest award a young person under the age of 25 can gain within Scouting.
The Certificate from HM The Queen reads:
“As a QUEEN’S SCOUT you have prepared yourself for service to other people and your community and you have shown yourself a worthy member of the worldwide SCOUT MOVEMENT. I wish you every success on your journey through life; may it prove for you a joyous adventure.
On Sunday 28th April, Amy participated in the National Scout Parade at Windsor Castle in the presence of HRH The Duke of Kent and Bear Grylls – Chief Scout
Amy will be formally presented with her Award by the County Commissioner, Steven Tupper, at the District’s AGM on 20th June at the 6th Beeston’s HQ, starting at 7.30pm.
