Welcome to our website. Here you will find lots of information about Explorer Scouting locally, as well as links to local, county, area and national websites about Scouting.

Explorer Scouts are young people, usually aged between 14 and 18 years old. They make up the fourth Section of the Scouting family.

The District Explorers are planning to visit Portugal in August 2012 to see the Portuguese Explorers (Pioneiros) from Montomor-O-Novo near Lisbon who visited us last year. For more details see the flyer (pdf, 268k).

Natwest community awards 2011
We bid for up to £6000 in these awards. You can find out more here. Unfortunately, we were unsuccessful, but the Explorers still need more camping equipment, not only for large camps which require mass catering but also for Expeditions which involve lightweight camping. We still need support for buying new lightweight tents, and also tables and seats for catering and equipment such as lighting and cookers. A useful addition would be a trailer for transport.

The South West Notts Scout District extends from Toton and the County border in the west to Nottingham University in the east, and from Attenborough, Beeston Rylands and the River Trent in the south to Trowell in the north, covering all of Beeston, Chilwell, Bramcote and Stapleford.
